Katie and Brian's Wedding

Yesterday my younger sister Katherine got married to a man by the name of Brian Sheahan. I was able to head out Thursday so that I would be able to attend the temple when she went through it the first time.

Guy and I went back and forth on if we were both going to attend the sealing or if just I would go. Monday finals start at ISU and Guy's first exam is 7:30am. We decided that only I would go, in case the flight was cancelled or delayed that way he wouldn't miss the final.

Thursday-
I arrived Thursday afternoon and took the shuttle up to Provo. I met up with my sister Rachel and we waited for my parents and maternal grandfather Denny to arrive. They arrived about 1.5 hours after I got there. We went to meet up with Katie and Brian to get her temple clothes. (Fun fact: This week was Women's Conference so the distribution center was PACKED!)

After purchasing her accruements we went to drop Grandpa Denny off at Lanae's (his sister) house. Rachel, Dad, Mom and I went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. After dinner, Rachel went back to work and Mom, Dad and I went to Katie and Brian's new apartment to chat with them. We chatted for a bit and then left for the hotel to spend the night.

Friday-

We met up at the Mount Timpanagos temple for Katie to go through for her endowment. My paternal grandparents met up with us as well and while we waited for the endowment session to start we were able to do a few initiatories. During the endowment session we were able to meet Brian's family as well. It was nice to put faces to names.

After the session Katie and Brian and his family left to do flowers and do a few other things. While the rest of the family left for Logan so that we could visit with my great-grandmother Taylor. We learned that she is now the oldest person living in the city! Not to bad for being 96!!

After visiting with her we went to Maddox for dinner. The food was delicious and we had a great time chatting briefly before we needed to be back in Provo.

Saturday-

Katie and Brian's sealing was at 2 pm. Most of the morning was spent relaxing before the session. Rachel had to work in Orem at the new opening of Sodalicous. I went to drop her off and ended up staying to keep her company and help her out a little.

Guests attending the sealing were to arrive at 1:30. The sealing was beautiful. The sealer gave Katie and Brian wise council and advice before he began. All of Brian's siblings and several friends and other family members were able to come. We filled almost all of the sealing room with people in attendance.

Utah temples only allow 30 minutes for pictures, so there aren't a lot of pictures in the blog, just what I was able to capture in between shots.

We went from pictures straight over to the reception/family dinner location at La Jolla Groves. The food was delicious and rather large portions! We had a balsamic salad, then choice of 3 different entries (I had a chicken marsala sandwich) and then hagen das ice cream bars for dessert.

They had a short program as well with the best man (his brother Scott), maid of Honor (Rachel Taylor) speaking followed with two other speakers. Amanda Muller, and Brian's best friend from middle school.  Brian's sister Nicole, is a singer and she wrote and preformed a song for the couple.

It was nice to be able to meet his family and friends.

My family left shortly there after. With my paternal grandparents heading back to Logan, my maternal grandfather with my parents back to Moab. Karl and I both spent an extra night in Provo.

It was nice to be able to spend time with family this weekend and see everyone.

Congratulations to Katie and Brian Sheahan and their new adventure.

Thanking everyone for coming

So mom and I found this pretty funny. I looked down and noticed that we had similar styles of ring choice. Mom has the yellow gold with her engagement ring and anniversary band separate while I have the same set up in white gold. We deemed this picture worthy to show we are related.

Fun fact: These are all Taylor Colorado plated cars parked in a row. We thought it too was worth a picture.
