Dan and Rachel's Wedding

Guy went down to Dan and Rachel's wedding because Allison's schedule didn't allow her to take off work. So this week Guy is writing the blogpost so consider this your warning.

On Tuesday, I left Ames and travelled the two hours down to Chillicothe. Pete and Emily were there along with Sam and Amber who were just leaving to head down to Nauvoo for the night.  Pete and I decided shortly after I had arrived that it would be a good decision to make a run to Graham's for a little dessert. This would be the first of many trips to Graham's in the next 24 hours.  After this I went with Shannon and Ginny to Goodwill in Ottumwa and then got some more Graham's on the way home.

The next morning was the day of the wedding and I traveled down to Nauvoo with Pete and Emily and family which was very nice of them.  The day of the wedding was a little breezy but was still a beautiful day.

I thought it was funny that during the ceremony Dan said "I do" and not "Yes" like he was supposed to. Good times. After the ceremony we took a good amount of pictures. It was a little cold and windy which made things quite interesting.

Dan & Rachel!
The Crazies. I mean nieces and nephews.
One of Rachel's older brother's Mark and he and his wife Mini's first child.
On the way home Sam and Amber were nice enough to let me ride back with them and let me eat some of their taco pizza that they bought at Casey's.

At the reception Morgan and I put together the little gazebo thing (not a gazebo but I can't think of the word for it). We also rearranged some things to get them ready before the reception/open house started.

I think this is self explanatory.
I thought this was a cool picture because everybody is looking up.
The reception went well and was very well attended. Josh Goering (if I'm remembering correctly) gave a great speech about marriage and temple marriage.  It was a great way to help those attending that were not members of the church to better understand an LDS wedding.

Some shenanigans with the newlyweds.
I left before the reception was over but I happened to meet Dan and Rachel at Graham's shortly after I had left the reception. It was a funny happenstance. It was a good wedding and I'm glad that I was able to be there for Dan and Rachel's big day.
